Discover the treasures of Cusco in the south valley

Welcome to the Cusco South Valley Tour!. On this tour, we invite you to immerse yourself in the rich history and culture of the South Valley region, a hidden gem in the surroundings of the city of Cusco. From ancient Inca temples to picturesque colonial villages, this tour will take you on a journey through time you will never forget.

Our first stop will take us to the ruins of Tipon, an impressive complex of agricultural terraces and irrigation systems built by the Incas over 500 years ago. Here, you will marvel at the ability of this civilization to master land and water in perfect harmony.

We will continue our tour to the town of Andahuaylillas, known as the “Sistine Chapel of America”. In the Church of San Pedro de Andahuaylillas, you will admire an incredible collection of colonial sacred art, including gilded altarpieces and paintings dating from the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. The beauty and history of this place will take your breath away.

South Valley is lokated 30 km away from Cusco city, South Valley is highly recommended to visit because it`’s rouins of two big civilizations Wari and Incas who had developed in the XII and XIII century, also because it`’s traditional cousine of Guinea pig rousted in fire wood ovens and the bigest bread called Chuta that is prepared in Oropesa town. in Soth Valley you visit the Chapel of San Pedro de Andahuaylillas, this last place is very famous because it`’s Baroque stile paintings.

Itinerary

After picking all our passangers from their hotels we will start our route heading South to Puno. Passed 45 minutes we will make our first stop in the archeological site of TIPÓN. There we will appreciate the agriculture plateaus and ancestral constructions, as well as the hydraulic fountains built by the inkas. The following place to be visited is the lagoon of Huacarpay (protected natural area), that presents on its upper part over an Andean tableland the citadel of  “Pikillaqta”, dated from pre-inka times. The last wonder of the day will be the village of “Andahuaylillas”, where we will admire its picturesque and beautiful church known as “the small Sixtine Chaple of Southamerica”. Inside we will find several colonial paintings from Cusco artists. Then we will return to the city of Cusco.
