Humantay Lake 1 Day tour

04:30 – 05:00 AM: Pick up in Cusco

Our tour starts early to make the most of the day. We will pick you up at your hotel in Cusco in a comfortable tourist vehicle.

05:00 – 07:00 AM: Trip to Mollepata

Enjoy a scenic drive through Andean valleys and small picturesque villages. In Mollepata, we will stop for a light breakfast and a chance to stretch our legs.

07:00 – 08:30 AM: Drive to Soraypampa

We continue our journey to Soraypampa, the starting point of our trek. During this trek, you will appreciate the breathtaking views of the mountains and the surrounding landscape.

08:30 – 09:00 AM: Preparation and Beginning of the Hike

In Soraypampa, we will have a brief warm-up and stretching session. Our guide will give an introduction to the hike and what to expect.

09:00 – 11:00 AM: Hike to Humantay Lagoon

We will begin our approximately two-hour hike to the lagoon. The trail is of moderate difficulty, with some steep climbs. Enjoy the natural beauty, the panoramic views and the company of our expert guide.

11:00 AM – 12:30 PM: Time at Humantay Lagoon

Upon arrival at Humantay Lagoon, you will have time to explore, take pictures and relax by the crystal-clear waters. Our guide will share stories and legends about this sacred place for the Inca culture. If you are feeling adventurous, you can climb to the top of the moraines for even more breathtaking views.

12:30 – 01:00 PM: Walk back to Soraypampa

We descend back to Soraypampa.

01:00 – 03:00 PM: Return to Mollepata for lunch.

After lunch, we board our vehicle for the return trip to Mollepata. Take the opportunity to rest and reflect on the experience.

03:00 – 05:00 PM: Return to Cusco

Finally, we start our return trip to Cusco. We will arrive in the city at approximately 5:00 PM, leaving time to rest and enjoy the night in the city.

05:00 PM: Arrival in Cusco

We will drop you off at your hotel, concluding a day full of adventures and unforgettable memories.

The hike is considered moderate to challenging due to the altitude. The ascent takes around 1.5 to 2 hours. No technical climbing is required, but good physical condition is recommended.

Humantay Lake sits at approximately 4,200 meters (13,780 ft) above sea level. Because of this, we recommend spending at least 1–2 days acclimatizing in Cusco before taking the tour.

The tour typically begins with hotel pickup between 4:30 AM – 5:00 AM and returns to Cusco around 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM.
