Day 1: Cusco – Upis – Yana Qocha (First Campsite)

Your Ausangate Trek 5 Days begins with an early departure from Cusco towards the highland regions of the Andes.

After reaching Upis, the trek starts with stunning views of the Ausangate Glacier. The trail crosses open puna landscapes where llamas and alpacas roam freely.

We continue toward Yana Qocha, a scenic glacial lake where we set up our first campsite.

Day 2: Yana Qocha – Qomer Qocha (Second Campsite)

After breakfast, the trek continues through dramatic Andean scenery.

Today’s hike features:

We arrive at Qomer Qocha, where we establish our second campsite surrounded by pristine nature.

Day 3: Qomer Qocha – Rainbow Mountain – Ausangate Qocha (Third Campsite)

An early start leads us toward one of the highlights of the journey.

We hike up to the viewpoint of Rainbow Mountain, enjoying its colorful mineral formations in the soft morning light.

After exploring the area, we continue trekking to Ausangate Qocha, a stunning high-altitude lake near the base of the Ausangate range.

Day 4: Ausangate Qocha – Jhampapampa (Fourth Campsite)

Today we reach the highest point of the Ausangate Trek 5 Days.

The trail ascends to a mountain pass at approximately 16,831 ft (5,130 m), offering panoramic views of glaciers and remote Andean valleys.

After crossing the pass, we descend to Jhampapampa where we set up our final campsite.

Overnight at Jhampapampa.


Day 5: Jhampapampa – Pacchanta – Cusco

On the final day, we descend toward the traditional Andean village of Pacchanta.

Here we complete the trekking portion of the journey before returning by private transport to Cusco.
