In Manú ecological tour 4 Days, you will explore the Manu National Park the most biodiverse place on the planet which is located in the Peruvian Amazon raonforest. the Manú ecological tour starts in the city of Cusco. If you like the idea of entering in the virgin forest and admiring an infinite world of sounds and animals, so this is the place for you.
Itinerario
Day 01.- CUSCO – ATALAYA RIVER PORT – ECO MANU LODGE
Early in the morning we will pick you up from your Hotel at 5:30 am. And leave Cusco in the morning in our comfortable bus and travel through Mountains, beauty valleys, rural communities and visit Ninamarca Chullpas (tombs); these belong to the pre-Inca culture (Lupacas). Then we will climb up the last mountain and arrive to Acjanaco, this is the entrance to the Manu National Park. Fallowing this we will descend into the mysterious cloud forest, which has a huge variety of flora and fauna, making it an ideal home for epiphytic, orchids and bromeliads. By the afternoon we take a hike in this perpetual cloud forest, where we will be able to see the famous Peruvian bird (Cock of the rock) with their fascinating red colures, and acting in a daily ritual mating dance as well as trogons, quetzal, toucans, monkeys and on a lucky day the only Spectacle Bear of South America (Tremantus ornatus). After passing this beautiful humidity mountain forest and little Amazonian villages we will get Atalaya river port, the main touristic port in Manu National Park here we will get board our motor boat with good save equipment and navigate down this crystalline river of Madre de Dios until our Eco Manu Lodge.
Day 02.- ECO MANU LODGE
Early in the morning, you will wake up with the singing of the Amazonian birds and the exuberant Amazonian forest, here we will enjoy our healthy breakfast. Day to explore a mature primary forest, where we will appreciate many colourful birds, like scarlet Macaws, crimson crested woodpecker, bluish fronted jacamar, black tailed trogon, white throated toucan, crested eagle, etc families of monkeys, searching peccaries as well as giant kaypok trees, cedar trees, rubber trees and many air plants like lianas that are growing together in good reciprocal way of live. Good chance to climbing up and swing on this like a real Tarzan. Great experience! During this hike our expert guide will explain about medicinal plants and reptiles.
By the afternoon we going on direction to the hot spring, on the way we may spot different group of monkeys, sloth and bush turkeys that are frequently see on this trails and after one hour of hike we will get this beautiful natural place in the middle of the Amazonian forest here we will relax and take a mineral bath. At night fall we going to prepare our night equipment and on the way back to the lodge, we going see different night creature like owls, frogs, snakes, tarantulas and different kind of insect. Great experience! Overnight at Eco Manu lodge.
Nocturnal activities are available each night. These range from nocturnal walks, talks on different topics and caiman spotting.
Day 03.- ECO MANU LODGE
Early start and take our motor boat to the small colpa (wall of clay lick with mineral soils) in the river bank, where hundred of noisy species of parakeets, parrots and small macaws come to feed on mineral soil and salt supplement that they find in this clay, after this fantastic beautiful display we take our breakfast in a beautiful spot along the Madre de Dios river. Then we continue by boat up the Madre de Dios river to visit Machu wasy (lake) and with the help of our Telescope we will appreciate many families of hoatzins (primitive bird), horned screamer, hawk, herons, capybara (largest rodent in the world) and on a lucky day a massive anaconda.
Swimming, fishing in the river and hammocks are free and safe for our entire guest.
Night in our Eco Manu lodge a beautiful place with many flowers, hummingbirds and fruit trees.
Day 04.- ECO MANU LODGE – CUSCO CITY
Early in the morning we will have our fresh breakfast, after 20 minutes by boat up the river we get the tiny river port of Atalaya, where our bus will be waiting for us and drive back to Cusco, on the way back, we may stop frequently to observe some birds in the cloud forest. We will reach Cusco at 17:00 p.m. directly to your Hotel.
